"Unsung Hero" Grant recipient, $2,000, seven students taken to Washington, D.C. to lobby in the Senate of the United States in an ultimately successful effort to obtain funding for the restoration of the World War I Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, D.C. ($10 million award granted to the World War I Memorial Foundation for restoration in late 2009. Monument renovated and rededicated November 11, 2011.)
